IS TOO EARLY. The end of a thing is always more important than its beginning. Those that started well, how did they ended? As a student of law, logic and common sense shouldn't be left-out of what you write. However, when the whole energy is drawn from the mere spirit of opposition and not that of ideas, logic and common sense, isn't it a sham? 1. The issue of payment of salaries and exclusion of Local Government staff and others is made known to all—that such excluded areas are under checks—and until properly checked that payment will be made. It shows the spirit of propriety and not that of nonchalantly handling matters! 2. Leadership is taking charge. The Governor must be in charge and show the energy to be in control—sending a strong message to naysayers—who said he can't—proving to them that he can! The APC as a party must understand that governance is about Benue and not about APC. Our mothers, fathers, and unsuspecting villagers who voted overwhelmingly wouldn't have done that if it were in the name of APC, and now, more than proving to the APC that he can do it, is to prove to the locals—who are the real owners of his victory! 3. The past Governors may have satisfied partymen and flatterers, but they didn't satisfy the masses, and this victory is for the masses, it doesn't matter how long it would last, what matters is that, at a moment, there was a governor in Benue who considered the interests of the locals and not party-people, and history will record it for posterity's judgement. We will then have to let posterity be the judge and not to form online courts for passing partisan judgments! 4. No sensible assessment can be done in a matter of 30 days. Any assessment carried out in just 30 days is lacking time and therefore baseless and meaningless. It's just the partisan animosity and its poisonous venom that such assessment is drawn from, not anything to write home about! 5. Finally, greedy folks, even APC members, may love this loosen
